Fluent in English and Tamil, and with an abiding interest in philosophy and history, Adithan Arunachalam earned his international baccalaureate at KC High in Chennai, India. He achieved distinction as a National Merit Scholarship finalist and attained the Cambridge International Certificate of Education award. With an interest in technology, Adithan Arunachalam also volunteered as a systems administrator at his school and helped ensure academic continuity throughout the pandemic.
Mr. Arunachalam also cofounded the school’s Debate Club and led it as co-president, facilitating weekly discussion sessions that instilled high-level debating skills. The popular club attracted 25 percent of the student body as members. Active with the soccer team, he served as captain and even co-founded the cricket team. His competitive spirit earned him player-of-the-match distinction on several occasions.
Adithan Arunachalam gained vital volunteer experience as an intern with the nonprofit Professionals Forum, which focuses on social services. His efforts gave citizens a conduit for connecting with policymakers and instilled values of progressive leadership and educational equity in Tamil Nadu.
